Bob-Omb Clipping

Game: Super Mario 64
Purpose: Speedrunning
Origin: Unknown (Do you know the origin of this glitch? Contact here)

In Super Mario 64 there have been found a lot of glitches that can improve your time doing your speedruns, and glitches that can make your game more fun and challenging to play. One of them is the Bob-omb clip glitch, heavily used by speedrunners as it is a fast way to get a star and it also looks cool as hell.

With this glitch you can 'clip' through thin objects by making the Bob-omb push you through them. The glitch is very often used doing speedruns and freeruns to get the 6th star in the stage "Bob-omb Battlefield" without having to defeat Chain Chomp. If you do the glitch correctly, you can save yourself about 12 seconds.

Where can you do this?
In Bob-omb Battlefield there are two gates you can clip trough.

First there is the gate near Chain-Chomp which has a star behind it:
Secondly, there is also the gate near one of the red coins:
How do I do it?
First you will need to grab a Bob-omb, throw it, grab it quickly after it has landed and then you can redirect the way mario goes. There are different levels of speed you can get, it all depends when you grab the Bob-omb.
Now to clip through something, all you have to do is press 'B' to throw the bomb while you are standing against the object you want to go trough, it is important that your back is facing the object.
Although this glitch will most likely be hard to perform at first, if you give it some time and practice, you should be fine. Try to see what different levels of speed you can reach by grabbing the Bob-omb at different times.
